PixelFlux is suitable to measure the exact blood flow intensity in any bowel loop and can thus diagnose inflammatory bowel disease. The actual perfusion intensity correlates to histologic criteria of inflammation. The treatment effect on IBD can be evaluated by measuring the decline of inflammatory hyperperfusion of the bowel wall. There is no need to use contrast-enhancers.
